The Walk
Nuts for Mutts - The Walk joins animal lovers in a 5K walk to raise funds for three amazing organizations: New Leash On Life Animal Rescue, The Agoura Hills /Calabasas Community Center and the Calabasas Rotary Club. Each organization assists others in different ways, and so it’s partnership fully encompasses the community.
About The Calabasas Rotary:
The Calabasas Rotary Club is dedicated to providing humanitarian services, encouraging high ethical standards in all vocations, and helping to build goodwill and peace by contributing time and resources to others in the local community and throughout the world. Funds raised at The Walk help support the Club and its Foundation to administer a variety of programs including the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner which feeds over 600 seniors, Quarterly Food Drive for the West Valley Food Pantry, Neighbors' In Need program in partnership with the City of Calabasas, WAPI Project , Casa de Paz Orphanage in Baja, Mexico and many other life altering projects.
About New Leash On Life Animal Rescue:
New Leash On Life rescues dogs on death row at local shelters, rehabilitates them and finds them forever homes. Funds raised at The Walk and though donations support the New Leash on Life Education, Rehabilitation and Adoption programs, including Lend a Paw. Lend a Paw builds on the legacy created by New Leash On Life by rescuing animals, facilitating their rehabilitation and training and using the rescued animals as Therapy dogs for children and adults with illness or disabilities in need of healing, acceptance, and love.
About the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center:
The Agoura Hills / Calabasas Community Center is dedicated to providing recreational, social and educational services and opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to enhance the quality of life of the individual and the community. Funds raised at The Walk help support the programs and operations of the Center, including our after school teen program, The Underground. The Underground provides after school activities, homework time and social interaction to middle school students in the area in a positive and fun atmosphere. This program and others are instrumental in the growth and nourishment of the entire community. Through Parks and Recreation….the benefits are endless!
